Singer-songwriter Rowan Smith founded Melbourne bands Macguffins and later Barefoot, before moving to Hobart where he has produced a further six solo albums.

Rowan's songs have appeared in the Triple J Hottest 100 and ARIA Top 20 airplay charts.

Barefoot's debut album - Long Time Strangers - was released in Canada through A&M Records.

In 2020, New York indie label Cloudberry Records produced the 23-song CD Digipak - Macguffins Retrospective - for release in the U.S.A and U.K after hearing the band’s Australian indie hit - Rich Together - on a mixtape.

In 2024 Rowan’s ninth album - in the key of kintsugi - glues all the pieces together.

“Kintsugi is all about embracing imperfection. Rowan Smith’s new album might not be perfect but, gee, it’s good. Smith’s songs provide solace amidst the chaos of everyday life.” – Jeff Jenkins (ABC radio, Rhythms magazine)
